Communications that stay on.

For over four decades Kudu Communications has engineered the radio, microwave, satellite and fibre systems that keep mines productive, fleets tracked, defense networks encrypted and public safety teams connected across Botswana's hardest terrain.

A Quiet Conviction

Founded 1979.
From two way radios to turnkey systems.
Now woman led, board directed.

We don't sell radios. We engineer resilience into networks that protect lives, assets and national infrastructure.

What began in 1979 as a two way radio supplier has grown, under three generations of stewardship, into a premier turnkey integrator. Previously led by the late Gabriel Lesego, the company today is led by Ms. Abaleng Lesego, alongside Taolo Dube and Phillip Tsamodimo.

As authorised distributors for Motorola, MESIT, Barrett, SpaceCom, Icom, Ceragon Networks and Envitech Ltd., we deliver world class solutions to government agencies, defense forces, mining houses and enterprise. Every connection is built to power a stronger Botswana.

What We Do

Six disciplines.
One operating standard.

Full capability matrix →
01

TETRA, DMR & LTE

Encrypted two way voice with dispatcher integration, vehicular and manpack radios, leaky feeder and DAS for underground operations, and TETRA over LTE for harsh conditions.

02

Microwave & RF Backhaul

Ceragon based point to point and point to multipoint links engineered for harsh terrain. Broadband backbone where fibre cannot reach.

03

Satellite & Remote Comms

VSAT, satellite phones and hybrid connectivity for the most remote operations across the Kalahari and beyond.

04

Telemetry, SCADA & IoT

IoT based predictive maintenance, environmental and air quality monitoring, sensor networks integrated with control rooms.

05

Towers & Infrastructure

Tower design, lattice erection, fibre splicing and certification, structured cabling. Built to outlast the contract.

06

Energy, Tracking & Surveillance

Solar hybrid power, AVL fleet and asset tracking, AI driven surveillance, and encrypted communications for defense and law enforcement.

The Equipment We Stand Behind

World class hardware. Local engineering.

Authorised partner to Motorola, Ceragon, MESIT, Barrett, SpaceCom, Icom and Envitech. The radios on the belt, the dishes on the tower, the consoles in the control room. Specified, supplied, installed and supported by us.

How We Work

End to end, with our hands on the equipment.

Five stages, refined across forty six years of contracts. We begin with listening, not with a quotation.

  1. 01 /

    Consult

We sit down with operators, engineers and decision makers to understand the problem before we suggest a solution. No assumptions, no off-the-shelf answers. Independent advice, grounded in four decades of field judgement.

  2. 02 /

    Plan

Site walks, RF planning, link budgets, coverage modelling and stakeholder alignment. Every assumption documented, every risk surfaced, before procurement begins.

  3. 03 /

    Supply & install

Procurement through OEM partnerships with Motorola, Ceragon, MESIT, Barrett, SpaceCom, Icom and Envitech. Installation by our own technicians, dispatched from our Gaborone West facility.

  4. 04 /

    Commission & train

Acceptance testing against the design. Dispatcher and field operator training. Full documentation handed over to your team, in language they will use again.

  5. 05 /

    Maintain, for years

24/7 technical support, scheduled maintenance and spares from our on site workshop, warehouse and nine vehicle fleet. Most of our clients have been with us for decades.

Vision for the Future

A connected, sustainable, technologically advanced Africa.

We are not just reacting to change. We are actively shaping it. Our forward looking approach, combined with deep understanding of the African market, positions us to drive the innovation that will define the future of connectivity.

01

Emerging Technologies

5G, IoT, AI and advanced data analytics, integrated into the networks that run mines, ministries and utilities.

02

Digital Connectivity

Bridging the digital divide. Reliable comms infrastructure into the most remote corners of the region.

03

Sustainable Engineering

Green and energy efficient solutions. Solar hybrid power, low impact installations, future proofed sites.

04

Human Centred Design

Technology that serves the operator, the dispatcher and the field crew. Built around how the work actually happens.

Brief Us

If your operation cannot afford a dropped call, a lost packet or a dark dispatcher screen, we should talk.
